Creating an open and welcoming community is the most special part of Mimi & Martha and we love the way each maker and item that we platform tells their own unique story.
Although we may not always be in a position to take on new work, we are always happy to hear from new makers, especially makers who may otherwise face barriers to inclusion within the art and design world.
Over time, Mimi & Martha have gone on a journey towards a kinder way of treading on the Earth and we are always looking for ways to share this journey with our family, friends and now with you, our customers.
Our store looks for balance between the grá we have for our homes and the grá we have for the world around us.
We partner with makers who can help us reduce our impact on the Earth. We ask our suppliers to fill us in on the materials they use and the production methods which bring us our favourite products. We make sure to tell you, the customer, what the journey has been from raw materials to the products you love. Each maker and each product is shared with the “badges” they have earned, showing you the ways in which our makers are showing up for you, and showing up for our lovely planet.
Where our stockists may come up against barriers to sustainable production, we look to support them in making changes, whether through packaging options, commissioning pieces with more sustainable materials or ordering in bulk to reduce our carbon footprint.
Our products are always chosen with this idea of grá in mind. To us, this means choosing items made with love, for us to love. These items are made to last, and made with quality materials - from local Irish woods to merino wool, from botanicals and beeswax to Irish linens and tweeds.
We ask that the makers we work with send their products to us with minimal and eco-friendly packaging. When your order arrives at your door, it is packaged with the Earth in mind - wrapped with grá in natural straw, biodegradable tissue paper, recyclable cardboard and twine.
We have many more exciting plans to continue on this journey of thoughtful consumption and we are excited to share them with you as we grow.

Each maker we work with and each product shared on our store will be pinned with “badges” given to the item/designer based on how products are designed. The badge system shows our customer the ways in which our makers are creating, with the planet and our wellbeing in mind.
