John Hanly

Welcome to the colourful, beautiful world of John Hanly – makers of 100% Irish-designed woven scarves, throws and fabrics in wool, cashmere, lambswool, mohair and natural fibres. Every John Hanly piece is testament to craftsmanship, outstanding quality and timeless beauty.

The John Hanly story started back in 1893, when Denis Hanly and his son John set up a vertical woollen mill beside the Nenagh river, in a disused flour mill in Ballyartella, North Tipperary. Local farmers sold their fleeces to the mill, where wool was spun and carded and then woven into two main products of blankets and flannel fabric.

John Hanly work using only natural fibres as raw materials and all are sourced from renowned suppliers who produce and source their wools and cashmere in a sustained and ethical manner. They are located beside the Nenagh river in Ballyartella Woollen Mills. That river still drives the water turbine from which John Hanly generate their own electricity, so that all energy is from renewable sources.

Here at Mimi_Martha, we are thrilled to offer a gorgeous selection of John Hanly throws and blankets in a stunning range of colours, to enhance and complete your living space as well as beautiful and stylish wool and cashmere scarves for that cosy, Gra sensation.
